Happy Vanilla
Happy Vanilla was started by Yina, a crocheter who wanted to make things that bring out the kid in adults.
Everything is 100% handmade: amigurumi animals, crochet flowers, and micro-crochet jewellery worked at a scale so small each piece reads more like a miniature artwork than an accessory. Nothing is machine-made, and no two pieces come out quite the same.
The work is done by a network of more than thirty skilled female artisans, paid fair wages for a traditional craft that takes years to learn properly. It's slow work by design, which is rather the point.
The brand has been featured in Forbes, though what we like is simpler. Someone still makes these by hand, one stitch at a time.
